[Note: this is a followup to the last few posts here (part 3), here (part 2), and here (part 1) which are about a very pivotal story that completely changed my life and my relationship, and might just change yours too.]
Have you ever felt like there was someone else whispering doubts and lies into your ear?
Doubts and lies that make you question yourself… and your relationship?
Maybe they’ve even pushed you to act or behave a little out of character and accidentally sabotage your relationship…
But there I go getting ahead of myself again…
I was trapped in a small town in southern Thailand (that had no electricity during the day) with my identity stolen and with only about 30 US dollars to my name.
This left me pretty much powerless to do anything about my situation, as my bank kept tacking on extra fees every few hours for having my account “overdrawn”.
(At this point, I felt quite ashamed that I didn’t have as much money as I thought I had to begin with or have a credit card for emergencies).
As we walked back to the little hut we were staying in, Clay told me something I’ll never forget.
I held my breath as he put his hand on my shoulder told me that this was just one chapter of our love story–one adventure–that we’d look back on many years from now. He told me that we’d make it through this.
I breathed a huge sigh of relief…
I thought that this was the part he was going to tell me that he wished he never went on this trip with me because I ruined it.
Regardless of how much Clay tried to reassure me, I spent all night tossing and turning. I was still worried that I had lost everything and that Clay would eventually leave me in the end because I had ruined our trip.
Mika enjoys helping others overcome their limiting beliefs that prevent them from having the relationship they want. She is also not a fan of being tickled and hopes that one day, Clay, will finally realize that, as they have way too many tickle fights...And Mika has a not-so-secret love affair with chocolate.
